Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK

Bury St Edmunds has a great market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is a fine East Anglian place. We enjoy going there.  Often fruit and vegetables are as good in the market as in the supermarkets and far cheaper.

There is a small museum in the market square (at the back of the photo) called Moyses Hall in what is, I think, the oldest building there.

Bury St Edmunds

We love shopping in this old Suffolk market town (Bury St Edmunds). Strictly speaking, it should be a city as the abbey has had cathedral status since 1914 according to Wikipedia. We especially like the market that has some real bargains. At the moment it has a bit of a Christmas theme!

Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds is our favourite place to shop. It is a bit further than Cambridge but easier to get to. It is a classic Suffolk market town with charming shops and a good market twice a week. Most of the people you see are true locals from the area with Suffolk accents.

In Cambridge it seems that a good proportion of the people are from China!
